Design-Nation: The Beauty of Becoming
Saturday 13th Sept to Sunday 9th November
In a world that often values speed, perfection, and polished results, The Beauty of Becoming offers something different. This inspiring exhibition invites you to discover the quiet magic of making and the beauty that lives in imperfection and change.
Featuring the work of 16 associate and graduate makers from Design-Nation, the exhibition explores how creativity thrives through process, not just outcomes. Whether it’s a collapsed clay form, a disrupted weave, or a hand-stitched line, each piece on display tells a story of transformation—of materials, of hands, and of the people behind them.
Ft. Zillah Puri, Tracy Caldah, Samantha Boot, Sally Scott, Rachel Barnard, Mary Stephens, Kate Buckley, Jane Frost, Jade Webb, Iara Talledo Violani, Flora Fabris, Daye Kim, Claudette Forbes, Carly Furneaux, Bonnie Kirkwood, Aneliya Stoyanova
Hub, Navigation Wharf, Carre Street, Sleaford,

'Thin Place’ — a collaborative piece with the ever inspiring @heathermcateerart for @thejellyreading Open for Art 2025.
Heather and I first met during an online residency with Jelly five years ago, a time shaped by weekly conversations about art, ideas, books and life. Those exchanges left a lasting impression and friendship. We weren’t planning a collaboration back then; we were simply connecting, listening, finding a quiet rhythm between our practices.
So when the opportunity for Open for Art came up this year, it felt like the right time to finally make something together. Thin Place came from that — built on shared threads that had been quietly waiting, ready to be woven into something new.
You can find it in the window of @simondowlingbespoke until Wednesday 2nd July.
Big thanks to Jelly for first bringing us together, and for this full-circle moment. And to Simon — thank you for letting us inhabit your space with this work.
A thin place is said to be where the veil between worlds feels lighter — where something beyond the visible comes close enough to touch, where past and present intersect and healing and transformation can occur.

Until next time.....
Thank you @readingmuseum for inviting us to exhibit in such a beautiful and fitting space 💖✨
