Awarded Runner-up Rising Stars Exhibition
I’m incredibly honoured to have been named Runner-Up at the Rising Stars 2025 exhibition, hosted by the renowned New Ashgate Gallery this March.
Rising Stars is a prestigious annual event that celebrates the most promising early-career makers from across the UK. Curated on a national scale, the exhibition is more than just a showcase, it's a launchpad for emerging creatives stepping into the world of contemporary craft and design. Being selected to exhibit alongside such a talented group was a privilege in itself; receiving the Runner-Up award made the experience all the more meaningful.
The programme is known for providing its artists with their first professional exhibition experience, offering an invaluable opportunity to present work in a gallery setting, engage with collectors, and build professional networks. For many of us, it's a pivotal moment that marks the transition from student or emerging artist to a recognised name within the British craft scene.
Exhibiting at New Ashgate Gallery, an institution with a rich history of supporting and promoting craft was a dream come true. The gallery's commitment to nurturing new talent and advancing the future of British craft is evident in the thoughtfulness and care they bring to the Rising Stars initiative.
This recognition has not only boosted my confidence but also affirmed my path as a maker. I'm incredibly grateful to the curators, the judges and everyone involved in the exhibition. I'm excited to carry this momentum forward and continue pushing the boundaries of my practice.
